Property on North Gaylord Street in Whittier, Denver, listed by Shurie Fletcher

Downtown and the first neighborhoods

Capitol Hill, City Park & the Historic Core

Victorian mansions turned condos, 1920s apartment houses and the brick rows of Whittier, Cole and Curtis Park, all within a short walk or bike ride of downtown.

Denver's earliest neighborhoods ring the downtown core. Capitol Hill and Cheesman Park hold the city's densest collection of pre-war architecture: Richardsonian Romanesque mansions, Denver Squares, and courtyard apartment buildings, with the 80-acre Cheesman Park and the Denver Botanic Gardens at the center. City Park West and the blocks around City Park (330 acres, the zoo and the Museum of Nature & Science) follow the same pattern a mile north.

Northeast of downtown, Curtis Park, Cole and Whittier are among the oldest residential grids in the city, with Italianate and Queen Anne rows from the 1880s now sitting alongside RiNo's galleries, breweries and the 38th & Blake A-Line station. The Golden Triangle, between the Civic Center and Speer Boulevard, mixes the Denver Art Museum campus with high-rise condominiums.

Shurie's central-Denver work spans the full price range: condominium sales in Capitol Hill and Cheesman Park, a $2.3M penthouse at 925 Lincoln Street in the Golden Triangle, and a series of listings and land sales on North Gaylord Street in Cole and Whittier.
