Washington Park, Platt Park & South Denver
Denver's classic park-side neighborhoods: bungalow blocks around Wash Park and Old South Pearl, and the larger lots of Wellshire and University Hills.
Washington Park is a 155-acre park with two lakes, formal flower gardens and a 2.6-mile loop. The neighborhoods around it, Wash Park, Wash Park West and Bonnie Brae, pair 1910s–1930s brick bungalows and Tudors with a steady stream of new two-story homes on the original 37.5-foot lots. A mile west, Platt Park centers on Old South Pearl Street, a former trolley line that is now a seven-block stretch of restaurants, coffee shops and a Sunday farmers' market.
South and east, the neighborhoods change scale. Wellshire wraps around the municipal Wellshire Golf Course with mid-century ranches and new builds on quarter-acre lots. University Hills, Southmoor Park and Rosedale offer post-war ranches and split-levels near the High Line Canal and the Colorado Station and University of Denver light-rail stops.
Recent work here includes listings at 3217 South Elm Street in University Hills and 2026 South Lincoln Street in Platt Park, and representing the buyers of a 7,500-square-foot contemporary in Wellshire at $3.2M, one of Shurie's largest sales to date.
